Wedding: Sue Lynn and Charles

I did makeup for Sue Lynn's engagement portraits in January as well as for her bridals this month and it was so nice to see her big day finally come around!

I have worked at Kindred Oaks many times and it remains one of my favorite wedding venues. From the location to the staff, the whole experience is always wonderful!

Dustin Meyer, her photographer, did an amazing job with pictures and Necole Marlow, her hair stylist, did an outstanding job with hair.

I wish Sue Lynn and Charles the best of luck and happiness in their new life together!

Photo Shoot: Umbrella Pin-up

Today, I had a shoot with Geoff and Martina Hammond (of Hammondovi Photography), whom I have worked with countless times, and Elle LaMont.

Elle is an actress and model who has had bit parts in film and television, including NBC’s Friday Night Lights and lead parts and title roles in the features The Devil’s Gravestone, Hello, Lola, and Strings.

We had a wonderfully productive day and As always, I loved working with Geoff, Martina and Elle!

Yesterday I had a shoot with Dave McLaughlin (of DCM Photography) and Tamirra who needed pictures for her sponsors.

Tamirra is a triathlete on a mission for the Ironman World Championship and I really enjoyed hearing her amazing story while doing her makeup!

Personal Blog: My week off...

For the last week I have enjoyed hanging out with friends, painting the walls of our house and relaxing but I must say the highlight of my time off was having my picture taken with my husband by the great Dustin Meyer!

Now it’s back to work!

Photo Shoot: Ciarla Bridal

Today I did a lookbook shoot for clothing designer Jessica Ciarla. She has a new bridesmaids line out called Alice that is loosely based on Alice in Wonderland.

Beautiful dresses called for a beautiful model, Sarba, a wonderful photographer, Ricardo Reyna, and a great hair stylist, Ozzie Reyes. It all came together to make some great images!

Photo Shoot: Kassia & Leslie

Today I had the great fortune to be able to work with Kassia, a photographer who was visiting from Kansas, and Leslie, a local model who I have worked with many times and just love!

They met me at my studio for makeup and hair but due to my busy schedule, I was unable to attend them on the shoot.

Obviously, they did alright without me!

First blog in a long time...

It’s been a long time since I wrote a blog so I might be a little rusty guys! To up-date you all, my life in 2008 was a whirlwind of weddings, photo shoots and makeup classes.

Here are just a few of the amazing experiences I had and talented people I had the honor of working with in 2008:

- I was the makeup artist for over forty brides and bridal parties in 2008. It was so wonderful to be able to help them look and feel their best on such a special day!

- I worked with many amazing photographers like Andrew Chan, Geoff Hammond, Julian Humphries, Dustin Meyer, Eric Morales and Tania Quintalilla to name a few!

- I worked with Esti Choi who owns BuyDefinition.com, an online shop and showroom, for her catalog and lookbook shoots.

- I attended two makeup classes for eye makeup and airbrush makeup from Last Looks Makeup Academy to further my education as a makeup artist.

My work has also been published in Austin Monthly Magazine and Opulence Magazine

To say the least, 2008 was an amazing year with many opportunities to work with and meet new people, help my brides realize their own makeup perfection on their wedding day and learn many new and wonderful things

I’m looking forward with anticipation to all the new experiences 2009 will bring!
